About this Project
The Southwest Virginia Clawhammer Masters Internet Map is an educational web resource supported by Mid Atlantic Arts Central Appalachia Living Traditions (CALT) program. This project centralizes biographical, educational and geographical information surrounding the banjo masters that have lived and played in the mountains of southwest Virginia for over 150 years.
